Soccer Tournament Plus Odds and Ends for the Weekend
Sorry about not posting yesterday, but I had worked 50 hours during the week even with taking a half vacation day yesterday to pack and otherwise prepare for a soccer tournament in Kentucky today and tomorrow. Between the work and everything else that I have going on, I was quite tired and didn’t have the energy to do much else. But I did get almost 8 hours of sleep last night so I am feeling quite well. I will also likely get some extra rest tonight as well since I have no major obligations.
Unfortunately, it is misting and about 46 degrees outside. I was quite chilled this morning after the game so it is nice to have a few hours to warm up in the hotel. I don’t think the weather will be getting any warmer today. Maybe we can get lucky tomorrow and see a bit of sunshine like last weekend when it rained on Saturday but was sunny on Sunday.
The New Blog
I launched the new blog, Penny Thots, on April 1st. So far, things seem to be going reasonably well. I am a little disappointed in the level of traffic. I was hoping that it might be better, but I really can’t complain that much. It is starting to pick up and should only get better as time goes on. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, feel free to do so at PennyThots.com. Every day, new content is added so you may want to subscribe as well.
Here are the Carnivals that have featured my blogs the past few weeks (CFM = Cash Flow Mantra, GPM = Grand Per Month, PT = Penny Thots):
Carnival of Money Pros – Final Ride Edition – CFM, GPM
Yakezie Carnival – April Fool’s Edition – CFM
Carnival of Financial Planning – Edition #231 – CFM
Yakezie Carnival – Easter Edition – CFM
Carnival of Financial Camaraderie #28 – GPM
Festival of Frugality #331 – CFM
Carnival of Personal Finance #357 – PT (editor’s pick!)
Please notice that Maria’s post at Penny Thots was an editor’s pick! This is the first one that I have seen so I am really pumped to be part of such an awesome group of authors even though all I had to do was copy and paste.
Speaking of authors, I have been doing some research and reading about self-publishing an ebook. It looks like a lot of work, but could easily be worth it. It is something that I probably should do. I sat around thinking about starting a blog and wasted about 2 years just contemplating and wallowing in fear and uncertainty. I would suspect that if I put it off, I will regret it later. So, I have been thinking about topics. I have about 5 potential topics in my head. I should probably muster the courage to start working on one.
Let me know if you think I should work on one and if you might be interested in buying one on covered calls. Also if you will, how much would you pay for an eBook? This is my lame attempt at some market research so humor me. Thanks.
Maybe I will get started scratching out some notes tonight while hanging out at the hotel. In the meantime, I may take a short nap before the next soccer game. I hope your weekend happens to be warmer and drier than mine.
